DESCRIPTION:
Your old engine must have the same crankshaft size as the new replacement engine. PLEASE contact us with your engine MODEL and TYPE numbers if you are not sure about your engine's crankshaft size. You can always measure the crankshaft size. VERY IMPORTANT (PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING): This is a very standard and universal for BRIGGS and STRATTON with same VERTICAL crankshaft size. If your engine looks similar to this, has same 1” Dia. x 3-5/32” Dynamically Balanced vertical crankshaft and you don't care about the HP difference, you can use this engine. The following is for mower with a separate choke cable: Your mower may have a separate cable to connect to the choke device of your engine. Our engine has a Choke-a-matic feature. What this means is that the choke and throttle device connect to the same cable. If you push the throttle lever all the way up, it will choke the engine. So you will have to mark on your throttle lever where is the maximum point. If you pass that point, you will choke the engine. We think you may be able to transfer the choking device/control from your old engine to the new one or you can always get a combined choke-throttle lever with cable from a local mower shop that fits your mower. NOTICE: Not all engines have the same wire harnesses. You can take the cover off to see where all the wires lead to. If the new engine's wire harness is not the same as the old engine's wire harness, you may have to transfer the old wire harness to the new engine and place the all the wires in the right wire harness's slots. Also, the factory did not tap the mounting holes on this new engine. You will have to tap (thread) them. If somebody sold you engine with tapped mounting holes, it may not be a new engine. If the choke/throttle bracket controls are not the same, you either get a new cable or swap them with the new engine's CLICK HERE FOR 44N8770008G1 DETAILED PICTURES |
