VERY IMPORTANT (PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING):

This is a very standard and universal for BRIGGS and STRATTON with same VERTICAL crankshaft size. If your engine looks similar to this, has same 1" dia. x 3-5/32" keyed crankshaft and you don't care about the HP difference, you can use this engine. Please make sure your engine has the same crankshaft size. Otherwise, it will not work.

Your mower may have a separate cable to connect to the choke device of your engine. Our engine has a Choke-a-matic feature. What this means is that the choke and throttle device connect to the same cable. If you push the throttle lever all the way up, it will choke the engine. So you will have to mark on your throttle lever where is the maximum point. If you pass that point, you will choke the engine. We think you may be able to transfer the choking device/control from your old engine to the new one or you can always get a combined choke-throttle lever with cable from a local mower shop that fits your mower.
