VERY IMPORTANT (PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING):

This is a very standard and universal for BRIGGS and STRATTON with same VERTICAL crankshaft size. If your engine looks similar to this, has same 1” Dia. x 3.16” Dynamically Balanced Keyed Crankshaft and you don't care about the HP difference, you can use this engine. Please make sure your engine has the same crankshaft size. Otherwise, it will not work.

Choke-a-matic: Your mower may have a separate cable to connect to the choke device of your engine. Our engine has a choke-a-matic feature. What this means is that the choke and throttle device connect to the same cable. If you push the throttle lever all the way up, it will choke the engine. So you will have to mark on your throttle lever where is the maximum point. If you pass that point, you will choke the engine. We think you may be able to transfer the choking device/control from your old engine to the new one or you can always get a combined choke-throttle lever with cable from a local mower shop that fits your mower.

This vertical crankshaft engine WILL NOT replace a Horizontal (side) crankshaft engine. Vertical Crankshaft Engine when mounted, the crankshaft will be on the bottom pointing down. If you are not sure about your engine crankshaft size, please call us. The replacement engine must have the same crankshaft size as your current engine.

Minor things that you may have to do when you this engine to replace your engine including but not limited to: transfer your wire harness from your old engine to the new one if it is not the same (most of these engines have similar wire harness though), tap/thread the mounting holes (as most of brand new engines did not have the mounting holes threaded/tapped by the manufacturer)..etc.
